The Crones of Winter Workshop with Vivian Dickinson 11/23/24 @ 4pm

The holiday season is a time for many things, family, food, and magic.

The time of winter is a time of turning inward, discovering the dark parts of ourselves, our shadow. The feminine spirit is wild at this time, dark, ancient, mysterious. Who are these old Goddesses from the past, some we know well if to this day. Some we do not. These Goddesses stories are old, they connect with aspects of ourselves, our spirit. As we read 
and understand who these Goddesses are, we connect and understand the darker more 
hidden spaces within ourselves. Most of these stories and traditions came from pagan beginnings, the legend of La Befana is no different. The traditions of The Christmas Witch in Italy are old, full of pagan symbolism, and goddess worship. Looking deep in these legends we open up a different side to the old woman of Winter and relation to the Old Hag from many cultures. We will touch on the similarities La Befana has with other Crone and Hag Goddesses as The Cailleach, Baba Yaga, Berchta, Hulda, and Ragana. As well as similarities to Abundance Goddesses like Strenia, Abundia, and Feronia.

 
Join me as we travel with The Crone and Hag Goddesses from time old and almost forgotten. 
In this class we will learn 
- Lore of some of the Goddesses and how their myths can relate to us in our daily lives. 
- How to build a relationship, communicating, learning to connect through meditation, 
art work, and writing.
- Creating a shrine, and place of honor, worship, and where you can work. 
- Offerings, physical gifts and offerings as well as how to give offerings of an emotional or 
non physical way. 
Please bring something to write on and with for writing down questions and prompts.
